A tall tree found in the cooler high altitudes of the Australian Alps between Melbourne, Victoria and Australia's capital city Canberra. Preferring steep slopes and the sides of mountain ranges, Alpine Ash produces a light consistently creamy colored wood. It is predominantly straight grained as a result of the quartersawn cut providing Alpine Ash with excellent dimensional stability. It is ideal for interiors, ranging from sophisticated retail spaces to elegant home interiors.
