Care
& Maintenance: Laminate Maintenance
|
Mannington
Laminate Floors come as close as possible to being maintenance
free and are extremely resistant to wear and stains. Here's
how to keep yours looking like new.
-
Important:
Never wax, polish, sand, or lacquer your Mannington Laminate
Floor.
-
Spot
clean your floor as needed and completely clean several
times a year with Mannington Award Series® Cleaner.
-
Occasionally
vacuum or sweep to eliminate loose dust and debris.
-
Wipe
soiled spots with a cloth dampened with clean water or Mannington
Award Series® Cleaner diluted in water. Make sure the cloth
is thoroughly wrung out. Never flood the floor with water
or cleaner.
-
After
damp cleaning, dry the floor thoroughly with a clean cloth.
-
Remove
tough, stubborn stains such as paint, adhesive, asphalt,
oil, etc. with alcohol, acetone, or nail polish remover.
-
Never
wax, polish, or use soap. Doing so may damage the wearsurface,
causing it to be slippery or to have unattractive smudges.
-
Never
use a steam cleaner.
-
Never
use scouring powder products, steel wool, or abrasives.
-
Do
not treat or seal Mannington Laminate Floors after they
have been installed.

Care
& Maintenance: Hardwood Care
|
You
can protect your Mannington Wood Floor by following these easy
guidelines.
-
Use
rugs at workstations, pivot-points (e.g., stair landings,
room entries), and high-traffic areas to reduce wear, especially
if you have a large family or indoor pets.
-
Use
mats at all exterior doors to keep sand, dirt, grit, grease,
and oil outside.
-
Keep
pet's nails trimmed and paws clean and free of dirt, gravel,
grease, oil, and stains.
-
Place
protective pads beneath furniture legs and feet to reduce
scratches and dents.
-
Use
a dolly and protective sheets of plywood when moving heavy
objects, furniture, or appliances.
-
Make
certain furniture casters are clean and operate properly
(a minimum 1" width is recommended.)
-
Remove
shoes with spiked or damaged heels before walking on floor.
-
Exposure
to the sun and its UV rays accelerates the oxidation and
aging of wood and fabrics. This causes the stain and/or
wood to fade and/or change color. We recommend you rearrange
rugs and furniture periodically so the floor ages evenly.
The Mannington warranty does not cover damage from the sun
and UV rays

Care
& Maintenance: Hardwood Maintenance
|
Here
are some simple things you can do to keep your Mannington Wood
Floor looking like new.
-
Sweep
or vacuum regularly, since built-up grit can damage the
finish. The vacuum head must be a soft brush or felt type.
Be certain the wheels of the vacuum are clean and do not
damage the flooring. Do not use a vacuum with a beater bar
head.
-
Important:
Never wet mop or flood your floor with water or other products.
This can severely damage the floor.
-
Remove
spills promptly using a soft cloth.
-
The
use of Mannington care and maintenance products is highly
recommended: UltraClean™ and UltraFinish II™.
-
Important:
Do not use oil soaps, liquid, or paste wax products or other
household cleaners that contain lemon oil, tung oil, or
ammonia since the Mannington warranty does not cover damage
caused by non-recommended products.
