Character Grade
Traditional
In every detail, inside and out, your home reveals
so much about you, what you cherish and how you live.
Few flooring choices are as visually powerfully as our ¾" thick
hardwood flooring. The unparalleled beauty of oak, cherry, hickory,
maple or black walnut flooring offers timeless elegance that
never goes out of style. Combine this with HomerWood's specially
selected Character Grade® timber and what you get is a floor
that is uniquely yours adding beauty and comfort to your home.
What Is Character Grade®
We use the word "Character" to describe our flooring
because the wood's inherent characteristics - the very fingerprints
of nature - have been beautifully and reassuringly preserved.
The end result is an elegant floor that includes both clear and
character planks that reflect the best attributes of the natural
wood.
Amish Hand-Scraped
Collection
Instantly Add Heritage and History to Your Home
with HomerWood's Hand-Scraped Flooring!
This collection of Character Grade® flooring offers a truly
authentic distressed look because it is hand-scraped by Pennsylvania
Dutch craftsmen in the tradition of Renaissance-era woodworking.
New planks are hand-sculpted, one at a time, to create unique
custom flooring of timeless originality and distinction. Unlike
most of today's machine-distressed flooring, no two planks are
alike and each bears the signature of the proud craftsman who
created it.
The Amish Hand-Scraped™ Collection is available in prefinished
and unfinished wood that includes Cherry, Hickory, Oak, and Black
Walnut. Some species are specially-stained to further enhance
and deepen the effect of the hand-scraping.
Warranty Information
Prefinished Product Warranty:
HomerWood® Hardwood Flooring Company warrants that NINETY
PERCENT (90%) of the total floor surface area of its prefinished
hardwood flooring finish will not wear through or separate from
the wood for the lesser period of 15 years or as long as the
original purchaser owns the home, when properly inspected, installed
and maintained in accordance with HomerWood® Corp. requirements
regarding inspection, installation, and maintenance and when
used only in residential traffic conditions.
Transportation and Storage:
The product must be transported and stored in a dry environment.
No exposure to moisture of any type should be permitted. Do not
store on concrete surfaces.
Environmental Conditions:
The humidity level in the home must be maintained in the range
of 45%-55% throughout the year. Air conditioning, dehumidification
or humidification may be necessary, to control the environmental
humidity range, and maintain it in the desired range of 45%-55%,
since excessive humidity beyond the range may cause individual
board swelling, and humidity below the range (typical in late
winter or desert climates), may cause individual board shrinking.
Normal exposure to sunlight will bring about changes in the
shading of any hardwood floor as the floor ages. Cherry flooring
naturally darkens with exposure to sunlight which is not considered
a defect. Area rugs should be moved occasionally as they block
sunlight and may give the appearance of discoloring under the
rug. This is not a product defect.
Installation over radiant heat will void this warranty.
Abuse or Misuse:
This warranty does not cover any damage that results from the
accidental or intentional penetration of the finish. Nor does
the warranty cover damage caused by shoes in need of repair,
sports equipment, furniture, cleaning equipment, sudden impact
by hard objects, pet claws, use of abrasive cleaners, or abrasion
by any object such as sand or pebbles. Scratches that appear
after installation are considered to be normal wear. Sanding
or "screening" the finish will void this warranty.
Moisture:
This warranty does not cover damage caused by moisture penetration,
flooding, leaky plumbing, overflowed tubs or sinks, washing
machines, dishwashers, or any similar damage.
Infestation:
This warranty does not cover damage due to insect infestation
after the product has left the factory.
Alterations or Changes in Composition of Product:
HomerWood® Hardwood Flooring Company will not be responsible
for alterations to or changes in composition of HomerWood Hardwood
Flooring Company products by anyone including, but not limited
to: purchaser and their installers, by whatever means or methods
employed by them, after the product is in the exclusive possession
and control of purchaser or purchaser's agents.

and requests that these requirements be followed prior to installation.
